Spagalimis was first opened in may 1978 at the corner of Colombo and Kilmore Streets, Christchurch. Initially the restaurant had eight tables, seating approximately 44 persons, with only seven employees, and takeaways available. Due to the very consistent and quality product, demand increased until at peak periods we were unable to satisfy demand. So in may 1991, after an exhaustive search for the correct site, we moved into the current position at 155 Victoria Street, Christchurch. Victoria Street Spagalimis has seating for 110 people; it has a separate takeaway bar and offers delivery services. Spagalimis was the first pizza restaurant to use gas conveyer ovens in New Zealand. From this point in time the demand for Spagalimis pizzas and its other products continued to grow. Spagalimis Church Corner was opened in 1995 and is located at 374 Riccarton Road, Christchurch. The restaurant seats over 100 people. From here the various outlet stores, which offer takeaway and delivery services opened starting with Beckenham in 1996, Linwood in 1996, and finally the New Brighton restaurant, takeaway bar and and delivery service in 2002. Soon to open is Spagalimis Redwood on Main North Road.
